Westlake students top the world in exams

A teenager on Auckland's North Shore has topped the world in three subjects in the prestigious Cambridge exams. Arkesh Patel is one of five pupils at Westlake Boys' High School to achieve the feat, making it the country's most successful school in the internationally recognised qualifications. Sixteen-year-old Patel only decided to study history at the last moment. He topped the world in the subject for fifth form Cambridge exams taken by eight million candidates in 150 countries, and also achieved top in the world in biology and chemistry.
