Themes

This theme allows you to change the boring appearance of Windows XP to the newly awaited version of Windows, Microsoft Vista.

First, make sure you have patched uxtheme.dll for your version of the Windows XP Service Pack. This allows you to enable 3rd party theme usage.

If you are using service pack 1, then download this.
Otherwise if you have service pack 2 download this.

Note: To find out what service pack you have, right click on my computer then properties. It will be under system.

To use the patch:

1. Download the file and extract to a place you will remember.
2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32 and rename uxtheme.dll to uxtheme.dll.donotuse
3. Move the new uxtheme.dll to C:\WINDOWS\System32
4. If you get any warnings from Windows, you must click "Cancel", otherwise the new uxtheme.dll will be replaced with the original one.
5. Reboot

Next download the theme here.

1. Move it to a place where it will not be moved e.g. C:\WINDOWS\My Themes
2. Double click, apply, ok.
3. Your system should now look like vista!
