Hey, this is the first Paint.NET tutorial... enjoy

We will be making this:

Requirements: Paint.NET( Application )
Time: <10 mins

Step One: Find a picture of dry mud (or anything with cracks and splits)

Step Two: Invert the colour ( Ctrl-Shift-I )

Step Three: Use the Eclipse tool to select you basic shape of the planet

Step Four: Invert Selection ( Ctrl-I )

Now delete the selection

Step Five: Fill it in Black

Step Six: Next Step is to Bulge the image.

You want to make it so the object looks planet-like. I put mine to 17, but just put yours to whatever suits the object

Step Seven: Now duplicate the image ( Crtl-Shift-D )

Step Eight: Add Colour Burn to this layer

Step Nine: Repeat Step Eight but this time add "Additive" bending

Step Ten: Now Merge Layer Down. You should only have to do this 2 times. (what this does it makes your image only 1 layer, so it's easier to work with)

Step Eleven: Okay time for some fun, lets add some glow ( Effects > Glow ). You will need to adjust this depending on what you want your planet to look like.

Step Twelve: Once again, Duplicate image and this time add Zoom Blur to the image ( Effects > Blur > Zoom ) the amount of zoom blur you put in is upto you.

Step Thirteen: Okay, now go to Hue and Saturation, change this as you please, after that, Merge Layer Down and your done!

Everyone try this out then post your final product! Ciao
